Import assessments from Boost Insights by Hachette Learning

Many schools use assessments from Hachette Learning. These include PiRA, PUMA, GaPS and NTS assessments.

Assessments stored in Hachette's "Boost Insights" system can be imported into Insight.

Setup

A few steps are required to set up a connection between the two systems.

Firstly, enable data sharing:

  1. Log in to Boost Insights as the Access Coordinator.
  2. Click Account details > Data sharing in the top right.
  3. Select Insight Tracking.
  4. Toggle data sharing On.

Next, import assessments into Insight:

  1. Log in to Insight
  2. Click Enter Data > Third-party Data
  3. Click Boost Insights by Hachette Learning
  4. Under "Import now", click Import Assessments

If you want Insight to automatically import assessments in the future, then tick the box in the "Automatic import" section.

There can be a delay between data being added to Boost Insights and it being available to import elsewhere. If you don't see the data you expect, try importing again the next day. Contact Insight support if you need any help.

Assessments

The following assessments can be imported from Boost Insights.

  • New PiRA
  • New PUMA
  • New GaPS
  • NTS Mathematics
  • NTS Reading

Assessment data from Boost Insights can be represented in various ways. The Boost Insights data sharing settings let you choose which are shared with Insight.

  • Ages
  • Standardised Scores
  • Age Standardised Scores
  • Performance Indicators
  • Hodder Scale Scores

The Performance Indicators are:

  • Working towards
  • Working at
  • Working at greater depth

Assessment Names

In Insight, imported assessment are named as follows:

  • Hachette - GaPS - Age
  • Hachette - GaPS - Std Score
  • Hachette - GaPS - Age Std Score
  • Hachette - GaPS - Performance Indicator
  • Hachette - GaPS - Hodder Scale Score
  • Hachette - PiRA - Age
  • Hachette - PiRA - Std Score
  • Hachette - PiRA - Age Std Score
  • Hachette - PiRA - Performance Indicator
  • Hachette - PiRA - Hodder Scale Score
  • Hachette - PUMA - Age
  • Hachette - PUMA - Std Score
  • Hachette - PUMA - Age Std Score
  • Hachette - PUMA - Performance Indicator
  • Hachette - PUMA - Hodder Scale Score
  • Hachette - NTS Mathematics - Age
  • Hachette - NTS Mathematics - Std Score
  • Hachette - NTS Mathematics - Age Std Score
  • Hachette - NTS Mathematics - Performance Indicator
  • Hachette - NTS Reading - Age
  • Hachette - NTS Reading - Std Score

Mark schemes

The imported assessments will use Hachette-specific mark schemes, which control how data is evaluated within reports. These might be different to other assessments you have in Insight.
