Using the Ask AI tool

If you have a question about Insight. The quickest way to get an answer may be the Ask AI tool.

Ask AI is found in the help menu. This guide details how to get the best results from it.

How to use Ask AI

Ask AI works best when you ask it a question, just as you would ask a human being. Think of it as a conversation rather than a keyword search.

For example, "How do I add staff costs to Provisions?" will give you a more focussed response than just a keyword search (like "Provisions Costs").

You can also ask follow-up questions and the AI will retain the context. Ensure you ask any follow-up questions as part of the same thread, rather than starting a new question from scratch.

Ask AI will also prompt for more detail, where it's unable to understand your line of questioning.

What can Ask AI do?

Ask AI is trained on all the Insight help guides. Therefore, it can very quickly summarise any help guide information and focus it on your specific question.

It is very good at drawing relevant information from multiple guides and presenting it together. Something that can be quite time-consuming to achieve manually.

What can't Ask AI do?

Ask AI has no access to your data, including pupil contextual data or assessments. Therefore, it cannot answer any specific data related questions.

You can ask it the best way to present your data or achieve your aim, and Ask Ai will be able to suggest reports or Insight functions, but it can't create reports or give you any answers about pupils.
