Mark Schemes: SAT TA 2019

The SAT TA 2019 mark scheme allows you to record your KS1 and KS2 teacher assessments (TAs). The following tables show which codes can be used for each subject at KS1 and KS2, for the 2018-19 academic year.

The safest way to enter your teacher assessments is via the Enter Data > SATs Teacher Assessments pages, which will only allow you to enter valid options for each subject and key stage. It will also make sure you enter P Scale assessments where required.

Valid KS1 Teacher Assessment codes (2019)

At key stage 1, TAs are recorded for Reading, Writing, Maths and Science. The assessments must be made for all eligible pupils with reference to the standards set out in the KS1 Teacher Assessment Frameworks or the Pre-key stage 1 standards, with the test outcomes for Reading and Maths used as evidence.

TA judgements for KS1 Reading, Writing and Maths are used for accountability measures (scaled scores are not used at KS1).

Valid KS2 Teacher Assessments codes (2019)

At key stage 2, TAs are reported for Writing and Science only, with reference to the standards set out in the KS2 Teacher Assessment Frameworks or the Pre-key stage 2 standards. The DfE uses these in performance tables.
